It is an astonishment that human nature has ascended through the Risen Son to sit in the triune life. "Your life is hid with Christ in God." This means that the life of God contains the image of God. God wants creatures and humans to be a dwelling place. There may now be forever a double image in the divine immanence: the way the Son eternally images her Father in Spirit and truth, and the way human beings image the Trinity. There is fullness upon fullness, grace upon grace, and the cup overflows to drip down into our realm. I lift up this cup with wet sticky hands in thanksgiving.

they say He will cover you with his pinions that the angels will catch but perhaps I prefer to be caught in the crevice of these folds deep jagged shadow blue-grey crag hidden in light that thin line of rod to the right that little cloud of dwelling on the left its two portals, measly and meager what dazzling darkness do you hide even here immortal company of Three? I have no knowledge. I shall rest for now the pinions nestled watchful plucked love You give. I shall make way to those portals later when the appointed time is come for this present, this Now I am feathered my sight now covered with faith. It looked like this originally: they say He will cover you with his pinions that the angels will catch but perhaps I prefer to be caught in the crevice of these folds deep jagged shadow blue-grey crag hidden in light the pinions nestled watchful
I have been considering the Joseph novella (Genesis 37-50) as the Episcopal Daily Office lectionary heads to its remarkable theological statement in 50:20–"As for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good" (RSV)–in light of the Augustinian notion of evil as a privation of good. If evil is not a thing, if evil is a deep watery nothing, and all things were created good and have goodness as their substance, then the fact that Gods bring good out of evil is a form of creatio ex nihilo . I must take heart in this fact, as we do our best as a human family to name and resist evil and pursue the good. It is a divine miracle, a sign of the gracious and creative initiative of God, when people do good and form solidarities of goodness in the midst of and in spite of this evil world that hurts people every day.
