Vice
I loved Vice ! I just saw it tonight. I have literally been out of the theater for less than two hours. Vice covers Cheney's life and rise to power, and if you dislike Cheney as much as I do, then it is about what you expect. There is no attempt to maintain the illusion of historical objectivity. But that is to the film's strength. It is not always weakness to be biased in politics. We are taught that civility is the highest virtue when it comes to political positions, but many of us, including myself, have undergone an apocalypse, an unveiling, with this current administration, and we can see now that civility is often a way to mask the deep evil and corruption that bubbles under the surface of the nation's halls of power. Vice depicts Washington this way, as a massive resource for people who only care about furthering their own agenda or who use other people in service of themselves.
